D.C. United to Honor Military Members and Veterans at Military & Service Appreciation Match

D.C. United will host its annual Military Appreciation Match at Audi Field on Saturday, May 21 as the club hosts Toronto FC at 6:30 p.m. ET. Fans are invited to join D.C. United in showing gratitude for the heroes who keep us safe.

Pre-Match Program

  • National Anthem: The National Anthem will be performed by the United States Army Brass Quintet ahead of kickoff
  • Color Guard: The Joint Armed Forces Color Guard from the Military District of Washington
  • Flyover: 1st Helicopter Squadron of the United States Air Force from Joint Base Andrews*

D.C. United Community Champion Award

The D.C. United Community Champion Award is presented to individuals who make our community better and embody the highest levels of excellence, service, leadership, and justice. The award will be presented at halftime of Saturday’s match.

Wounded Warrior Project

During halftime of the match against Toronto, D.C. United will honor 11 warriors with the Wounded Warrior Project, a veteran service organization providing assistance for those who have incurred physical or mental injuries, illness or wounds.
