United In The Community

D.C. United in the Community

D.C. United are committed to making a positive and measurable impact in the lives of children and families in the DMV region. Our primary focus is to support programs and initiatives focused on health & wellness, inclusivity, and community improvement.

As we face the uncertain challenge from the COVID-19 pandemic, we know now more than ever, it’s important to be together. While, we can’t physically be together, it doesn’t mean we can’t be United, which is why we’ve deepened our commitment to being a good community and strengthened our dedication to making a positive impact in the DMV.

Youth Development and Childhood Literacy

PG County Library System

A one-of-a-kind partnership in Major League Soccer, features free access to bilingual English/Spanish content, including workout videos for kids (Talon’s Workout Tapes), bi-weekly Ask Me Anything (AMA) events with D.C. United players, and bi-monthly virtual story time, #SaveWithStories, for children ages 2-8 through.

Health and Wellness

At-Home Workout Challenge

Mayor Muriel Bowser and D.C. United teamed-up to create a 10-day-at-home workout challenge, free for all D.C. residents, to help improve physical and mental wellness. Guided by Head Coach Ben Olsen and D.C. United players, each day focuses on a different part of physical health, from upper body and core exercises to at-home cardio and stretching, to deliver an all-around level of wellness.

Marthas Table

Community Building

#UniteTheDistrict Player-Led Fundraiser

D.C. United’s first team has come together to form a targeted effort, #UniteTheDistrict, to raise funds to support the mission of local nonprofit, Martha’s Table, in their commitment to protecting the health and well-being of the D.C. community and in response to the COVID-19 crisis. In addition to the player-driven fundraiser, the club has also pledged to donate up to $50,000 in funds and food while club staff have volunteered to assist in the pick-up and delivery of food to those in need, primarily in D.C.’s Wards 7 and 8, where there are only three grocery stores across both Wards.

Response to COVID-19

#UniteTheDistrict Ticket Donation Program

Starting this season, we will provide free matchday access to at least 8,500 brave heroes of the COVID-19 pandemic and members from our wonderful community partners, DC SCORES, Children’s National Hospital, and active military, military veterans, and military families through our relationship with Vet Tix. Season Ticket Members can also contribute to this program.

DC SCORES creates neighborhood teams that give kids in need the skills and confidence to succeed on the playing field, in the classroom, and in life. By using an innovative model combining soccer, poetry, and service-learning year-round, DC SCORES serves over 3,000 children within the District.
