Caleb Shreve joined D.C. United on December 8, 2023 as the Assistant General Manager. In his role, Shreve will work directly on player recruitment and analysis. 

Previously, Shreve was a part of Orlando City SC in 2022 as their Head of Analytics where he handled player recruitment and tactical analysis by using numbers and mathematical models to help evaluate transfer targets as well as team and player performance. During his time in Orlando, he was vital in the organization's recruitment process and was part of the staff that helped Orlando City SC recruit players such as Uruguayans Facundo Torres and César Araújo. That season, Orlando City SC won the Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup defeating Sacramento Republic 3-0 in the final and reached the first round of the MLS Cup Playoffs. This past 2023 season, Shreve’s recruitment and analysis helped Orlando City SC finish second in the MLS Supporters’ Shield race and reach the Eastern Conference Semifinals.

Prior to joining Orlando City SC, Shreve was a Data Analyst at Nashville SC for two seasons where he focused on match analysis and recruitment. He worked directly with the Chief Scout to help identify recruitment targets, as well as helped the coaching staff in team development and structure decisions. Here he worked closely with current D.C. United General Manager and Chief of Soccer, Ally Mackay, on player analysis. Shreve was also instrumental in building the analytics infrastructure to support Nashville SC’s academy. During his time with Nashville SC, they reached the Conference Semifinals in both the 2020 and 2021 season and was crucial in bringing in players such as Hany Mukhtar, Walker Zimmerman, Dax McCarty, and C.J. Sapong.

The 32-year old started his career as a criminal defense attorney at Shreve Law Group from 2014-2017. In 2018, he was a Course Assistant for Soccer Analytics and Basketball Analytics at Columbia University in New York for a year before joining Nashville SC as a Data Analyst in 2019. Shreve then became the Head of Analytics of Orlando City SC in 2022.

Shreve earned a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration (BSBA) with a focus in Sport Management from Robert Morris University in 2012. He then attended the University of Richmond School of Law from 2012 to 2015, where he received his Doctor of Law (JD) degree. In 2017, Shreve continued his education and pursued a Master’s degree in Sports and Fitness Administration/Management from Columbia University. Shreve also obtained a second Master’s degree in Global Sports Law from ISDE.
