On Saturday, July 22, the D.C. United Special Olympics Unified team, presented by Brightspot, opened their 2017 season with an intra-squad match up at RFK Stadium.
The match up, which featured a total of 30 athletes and partners from Special Olympics DC, kicked off immediately after United's home match against the Houston Dynamo. Participants got an opportunity to play a half of soccer on RFK's field before the match was halted due to inclement weather.
