United announce 2017 preseason schedule

D.C. United have announced the team's 2017 preseason schedule in preparation for the MLS regular season.


Players report to Washington on Jan. 23 and depart for camp in Bradenton, Fl., on Jan. 26. United train at the prestigious IMG Academy in Bradenton and play three exhibition matches in eight days. The Black-and-Red face the U.S. Under-17 National Team on Feb. 1, followed by a match TBD on Feb. 4. United also play Swedish side Jönköpings Södra IF on Feb. 8. After earning promotion to the top division (Allsvenskan) in 2015, J-Södra IF are playing in the top tier of Swedish soccer for the second year in a row.

D.C. United return to Washington on Feb. 9 to attend the Black-and-Red’s Day to Unite season ticket member event on Feb. 12. The team then departs for Clearwater, Florida on Feb. 15. and will return to St. Petersburg, FL., for the second year in a row to compete in the Rowdies Suncoast Invitational. The Black-and-Red join the Montreal Impact, Philadelphia Union, Toronto FC and Chicago Fire in the tournament hosted by the Tampa Bay Rowdies.

The team returns to Washington, D.C. on Feb. 26 to finish their preseason training before the final home opener at RFK Stadium against Sporting Kansas City on Mar. 4 at 7 PM.
