On June 25, Acosta cut inside from the left wing and floated a ball to the back post where Neagle volleyed home with his right foot.  The volley was his third of the year after previously scoring the team's first goal of the 2016 season against LA and adding a second against New England in May.

Acosta opened his MLS account in style, chipping Bobby Shuttleworth from outside the penalty area after as a substitute in United's 3-0 victory.  The Argentine went on to start the next nine consecutive matches and finished his first season in Major League Soccer with three goals and 11 assists (most by a Black-and-Red player since 2011).
