Career Summary

PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE

2016

In his first season in MLS, Rob Vincent enjoyed a breakout year for the Black-and-Red. After starting the season in a wide midfield role, Vincent moved into the center and proved to be an effective and reliable deep-lying midfielder. The 26-year-old started D.C. United’s final 10 regular season matches and scored his first MLS goal with a well placed indirect free kick from the edge of the six-yard box against Chicago on Sept. 16. Vincent made his first postseason appearance in the 4-2 loss against the Montreal Impact on October 27. 

 

 

2015

Vincent enjoyed a stellar campaign in 2015, leading the USL side Pittsburgh Riverhounds in multiple categories, including goals (18), points (42) and minutes played (2,421).  He was named to the USL All-League First Team, USL Player of the Week twice and to the Team of the Week seven times.

COLLEGE EXPERIENCE

Vincent played four years at the University of Charleston, West Virginia, where he earned NSCAA Division II All-Atlantic Region First-Team honors every year.  He was named an NSCAA Division II First Team All-American three times and was twice named the West Virginia Intercollegiate Athletic Conference Men's soccer Player of the Year.

PERSONAL

A native of Liverpool, England, Vincent played for Stockport County, Everton and Crewe Alexandra youth teams before moving to the United States to play college soccer in 2009.
