On Tuesday, July 16, D.C. United volunteers, with the help of both Target and Salvation Army volunteers, paired up with kids of the Salvation Army’s Social Services program and took them back-to-school shopping at Target. Each kid received an $80 gift card, and each volunteer made sure the kids purchased everything needed to start the school year off right. After the shopping spree, all participants enjoyed a late breakfast provided by Target and the Salvation Army DC. The event was a huge success and rewarding for the kids and volunteers alike.
Among those volunteering was D.C. United Marketing Coordinator Adam Hoyt who shared his experience through a Tweet.
