President for the Day
The 2025 home opener was filled with energy, excitement, and a unique opportunity for two Urban Alliance alumni. Darshana Basnyat and Zamiya Sabour had the chance to shadow Danita Johnson, President of Business Operations for D.C. United.
Their evening began at the partner reception, where they connected with VIPs and industry leaders while networking. They concluded the night with a post-match on-field photo-op and a meet-and-greet with D.C. United’s Hakim Karamoko.
This exclusive behind-the-scenes experience allowed them to spend time with one of the most influential leaders in sports—an experience they won’t forget.

I enjoyed shadowing Danita and meeting new people the most. As I transition to a sports-related major, Danita was incredibly helpful in answering my questions and guiding me toward my future in sports.” shared Basnyat.
