The quarterfinals of the 2015-16 Scotiabank CONCACAF Champions League are now finalized, and D.C. United are headed to Mexico.  United (3-0-1), who finished atop Group H after earning 10 of a possible 12 points from four matches, enter the knockout round the number two seed.  The Black-and-Red play Liga MX side Querétaro Fútbol Club in late February, with official dates times to be announced at a later date.

Gallos Blancos de Querétaro, the seventh seed, finished atop Group C with a 2-1-1 record and will host the first leg of the quarterfinals (Feb. 23-25).  United will host the second leg of the quarterfinals (March 1-3).

D.C. United have reached the semifinals of a CONCACAF tournament six times and have played in two finals, winning the Champions’ Cup in 1998 and losing to Club América in the 2001 CONCACAF Giants Cup.

In this season’s group stage, the Black-and-Red defeated Panamanian side Árabe Unido 1-0 in Panama City and 2-0 at RFK Stadium.  They defeated SCCL newcomers Montego Bay United FC 3-0 stateside and battled back to a 3-3 draw in Jamaica.

D.C. United join other MLS teams LA Galaxy, Seattle Sounders and Real Salt Lake in the knockout round, marking the first time in the current format that all four teams from MLS have qualified for the knockout round.  The SCCL winner qualifies for the FIFA Club World Cup, an annual tournament featuring teams from around the world.  Club América, last year's tournament winner, will play in the 2015 Club World Cup, held in Japan later this year.
