D.C. United host Loudoun United FC in the 2026 DMV Derby this Wednesday, August 5 at Audi Field. Kickoff is set for 7:30 p.m. ET in Washington, D.C. The friendly against the USL Championship side marks the first meeting between the two clubs in this setting and arrives during a break in the MLS regular season schedule, with the Black-and-Red not back in league play until Saturday, August 15 at Stade Saputo with kickoff set for 7:30 p.m. ET. 

D.C. United enter Wednesday's contest off a 2-2 draw with Eastern Conference leaders Nashville SC at Audi Field on Saturday, a result in which the Black-and-Red erased a two-goal halftime deficit. Defender Silvan Hefti scored his first career MLS goal in the 56th minute and forward Tai Baribo equalized in the 77th for his team-leading 11th goal of the season and his fourth in four consecutive matches. The result moved D.C. United to 5-5-8 with 23 points and extended the club's unbeaten run to five matches, with Head Coach René Weiler's side taking points in 10 of its last 11. 

Loudoun United FC arrive at Audi Field in the best run of form the Red-and-White have had this season, having won back to back matches while keeping clean sheets in both. Anthony Limbrick's side won 1-0 at Indy Eleven on July 25 behind a nine-save shutout from goalkeeper Ethan Bandré, then beat Hartford Athletic 2-0 at Segra Field on Saturday. Attacking midfielder Abdellatif Aboukoura, the 2025 USL Championship Young Player of the Year, scored in both matches, and forward Thor Úlfarsson added the second against Hartford. Founded in 2018, Loudoun United is the highest-level men's professional soccer club in Virginia and reached the USL Championship playoffs for the first time in club history in 2025, finishing sixth in the Eastern Conference with 42 points. 

The two clubs share deep ties across the DMV, with numerous players moving between the organizations over the past several seasons. Loudoun United's roster features former D.C. United midfielder Pedro Santos, who made 51 appearances for the Black-and-Red from 2023 to 2024, along with midfielder Richie Aman, D.C. United's eighth overall pick in the 2026 MLS SuperDraft, who is on loan to Loudoun United through the end of the 2026 MLS season. Loudoun United has also served as a development stop for several Black-and-Red Homegrowns, including midfielders Jackson Hopkins and Gavin Turner.
