D.C. United was not made aware of Simms' health issues until after the announcement of his retirement. We share the concern of all of Clyde's fans and send our thoughts his way in this tough time.
Clyde Simms gave it all for DCU. From 2005-2011, the talented midfielder made a significant impact with the Black-and-Red. It's a sad day when any player has to retire due to health reasons. We, as a club, would like to thank Clyde for his commitment to and passion for D.C. United and congratulate him on his wonderful and impressive career.
