Chris Korb was the club's second pick (31st overall) in the 2011 SuperDraft. The young defender said he is "ecstatic" to be joining United. Korb was a key member of the University of Akron's backline that led the Zips to the 2010 National Championship. Akron's coach, Caleb Porter, called Korb a "very good one-v-one defender" and added "D.C.’s going to love Chris Korb."
