MLS EXPERIENCE

2013: Iapichino played nine games (seven starts) for the Montreal Impact in the 2013 season, but was released by the club on August 13. He was then signed by D.C. United just two days later on August 15.

2012: The defender took part in a tryout with the Impact in June, before officially joining the club on July 11. He played seven games (five starts) in his first season in Major League Soccer and recorded his first career MLS assist on July 18 against New England. He also played 45 minutes in the international match against Olympique Lyonnais on July 24 at Stade Saputo.

OTHER PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE

2011/2012: Iapichino started the season with FC Lugano, after completing a permanent transfer from FC Basel. He played 20 games for Lugano and also two Swiss Cup games as they lost 1-0 to Iapichino’s former club FC Biel-Bienne in the second round.

2010/2011: The defender was sent on loan to FC Lugano in the Swiss Challenge League, scoring one goal in 25 games. He also played in two Swiss Cup games.

2009/2010: Iapichino scored one goal in 15 games with FC Basel II, before being loaned to FC Biel-Bienne for the second half of the season. He then played 12 games for the club in the Challenge League, the country’s second division.

2008/2009: Played 14 games with FC Basel II, the club’s U21 team playing in the Liga Promotion in Switzerland.

INTERNATIONAL

Iapichino played in six friendly games for the Swiss Under-20 National Team, including games against the Italian Under-20 National Team and the German Under-20 National Team.
