Get moving with your team, friends, or family this January while running in the D.C. United Winter Virtual 5K! We are excited to host our first virtual 5K and looking forward to having everyone train with us during preseason. Our Virtual 5K donations support SOME (So Others Might Eat) and offers a community initiative to keep individuals active during the winter. All registrations include a virtual racing bib, D.C. United scarf, and a ticket to a D.C. United match in 2021!
About SOME (So Others Might Eat):
SOME (So Others Might Eat) is a community-based organization that exists to help the poor and homeless of our nation's capital. We meet the immediate daily needs of the people we serve with food, clothing, and healthcare. We help break the cycle of homelessness by offering services, such as affordable housing, job training, addiction treatment, and counseling, to the poor, the elderly, and individuals with mental illness.

What is a Virtual 5K?
A virtual 5K race is one that you run or walk on your own, at any time of the day, in any place you like! The only rules are that you must complete the distance (5k/3.1mi) and you have to do it during the specific time period. Virtual races are a way to stay connected with one another when you can't get together for a normal 5K race.
The winner of the over 20 divisions will win two (2) premium tickets to a D.C. United match in 2021.
The winner of the women's and men's under 20 divisions will receive two (2) premium tickets to a D.C. United match in 2021.
The winner of best D.C. United winter or holiday attire photo will win a D.C. United prize pack
All Participants are winners! Everyone will receive a D.C. United scarf, a virtual racing bib, and a ticket to a D.C. United match in 2021!
How far do I need to run?
You will need to run/walk 5 kilometers or 3.1 miles. Please record your run on the running app of your choice (Strava, Map My Run, etc.)
Where do I run?
You can run indoors on a treadmill or outside! Please keep your social distance and wear a mask if you cannot social distance while running.
How do I post my results or photo?
Take a screenshot of your results and email your screenshot and a photo of your D.C. United winter attire to email@example.com or use our hashtag #DCUVirtual5K on social media.
