The deals have been made and the jersey numbers are now official. Goalkeeper Bill Hamid will wear #24 in his return to the Black-and-Red, while Vytas will don #27 for the District.
Hamid wore #28 for United between 2010-2017. During his first run with the club, the Homegrown quickly rose through the ranks of MLS goalkeepers, earning his international debut with the U.S. Men's National Team in 2012, helping United win the U.S. Open Cup in 2013, winning the league's Goalkeeper of the Year award in 2014, and pushing the Black-and-Red to playoffs in 2012, 2014, 2015, and 2016.
Vytas donned #5 for Portland since joining the club in 2016. The Lithuanian made 11 appearances in 2016 and 23 appearances in 2017. Injury limited Vytas' play time in 2018, as the defender made only three appearances before joining D.C. Back to health and facing new opportunities with his new club, Vytas will be eager to return to the pitch and make a name for himself in the District.
