Head Coach Ben Olsen

On the result…
"For their goal, a deflection went right to a great finisher [Mancosu]. It was a little bit unlucky but credit to them because they came out with a little more pop than we did. It took us a second to figure out the numbers they were adding on the sidelines. Over the course of the first half, we had better chances at goal and I’m surprised we weren’t able to get a goal before half time. That can be frustrating but credit to our guys for going back out there in the second half and continuing to chug along, be patient and understanding that there was a goal out there. It was a game where both teams had plenty of chances and it could of gone either way. The tie is probably fair on the day and we’re happy to get a road point and continue to add up results. Now we return home for a few games and it’s important to start adding three points instead of ties."

On the outlook for the rest of the season…
"We have played four games less than Montreal and less games than other teams. We have some games in hand and if we maximize our points or get close to that at home then we’ll be in good shape to put ourselves in the mix. We just need to keep moving forward and Wayne [Rooney] has certainly helped in multiple areas but our other guys continue to play at a high level. Our attackers continue to score goals and I thought it was a good collective defensive unit tonight."

Forward Wayne Rooney
On the team’s performance...
"We’re disappointed, we didn’t win the game. We felt we were the better team with the better chances. So we’re disappointed we only got the draw, but it’s a good sign that we’ve come away from home but we’re disappointed we only got a point."

On the chances created...
I think we hit the post two or three times. The ‘keeper had a couple of good saves. Another day, [maybe] we win the game but it’s a point away from home. It’s always nice to get a point away, especially here. It’s a difficult place to go but the lads in the dressing room are disappointed because we felt the performance deserved a win.

On the team’s improvement in recent games...
I think the players are responding to what the manager wants. I think myself and my teammates are getting to know each other better and I feel we’re progressing. We’ve got a lot of games to go and points to fight for. We’ll take each game as it comes and see where we go from there.

On European players acclimating to MLS play...
"Physically I feel fine. I’m 32 years old, not 35, 36. I’m still fairly young. Obviously not in my 20s. I’m still fairly young so I feel I’ve got a lot to give. I’ve been able to play a lot of games in my career. Of course another couple of games to get my full match fitness but I feel fine."
