United have received $300,000 in Allocation Money from the LA Galaxy in exchange for the rights to former midfielder Perry Kitchen. As part of the deal, United will receive $100,000 in General Allocation Money (GAM) and $200,000 in Targeted Allocation Money (TAM) from the LA Galaxy.

The Black-and-Red selected Kitchen in the first round (3rd overall pick) of the 2011 MLS SuperDraft on Jan. 13, 2011. The midfielder scored 10 goals and recorded 10 assists in 158 MLS regular season appearances for United over five seasons (2011-2015) and helped the Black-and-Red win the 2013 Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup. United maintained the MLS rights to Kitchen when he signed with Heart of Midlothian in the Scottish Premiership in March 2016. After making 45 appearances for Hearts, he signed with Danish SuperLiga club Randers FC in July 2017 and has appeared in 20 matches for the club in the last six months.
