Arriola's first goal named MLS' Goal of the Week

D.C. United midfielder Paul Arriola's first-half strike against the New York Red Bulls in the Black-and-Red's season finale, and final game at historic RFK Stadium, has been named MLS' AT&T Goal of the Week.

Arriola's tally in the 44th minute was his first goal for United, and his first ever in MLS. The goal came off a strong ball from Luciano Acosta who carried up the left wing and to the top of the box, then found Arriola right in front of the net for the tap in.

In addition to his Goal of the Week honors, Arriola's overall strong performance also earned him a spot on MLS' Team of the Week for Week 33. In his first 11 matches with the Black-and-Red, the midfielder has tallied one goal and two assists—both assists coming against San Jose on September 23.
