Audi Field progress continues

Construction on Audi Field, D.C. United's new home in Buzzard Point beginning in 2018, has steadily progressed this summer. Four years after United and the District announced a stadium at Buzzard Point, the Black-and-Red's new home continues to rise every day.

After months of site clearing and preparation, vertical construction on the stadium officially began in late June with the stadium's steel supportive beams being erected.

As construction continues, seat selection has also kicked off, with the first Black-and-Red fan officially selecting their Audi Field seat on July 22.

This week, stadium construction reached another milestone, as crews began assembling Audi Field's first seating section.

While Audi Field's completion will usher in a new era of D.C. United fan experience and Buzzard Point development, it will also set a new standard for environmentally-friendly stadiums. In June, United announced $25 million in green financing through D.C. PACE, which will fund the installation of state-of-the-art energy and water efficiency measures, an 884 KW solar array, and stormwater retention systems.
