United permanently transfer Alhaji Kamara to Saudi Arabian club

United have permanently transferred Sierra Leonean forward Alhaji Kamara to Al-Taawoun FC of the Saudi Professional League in exchange for a transfer fee.


“We thank Alhaji for his contributions and wish him the best of luck in the future,” Dave Kasper, United general manager and VP of soccer operations, said.


The Black-and-Red acquired Kamara as a Discovery Claim signing on May 11, 2016. The 23-year-old set an MLS record for the fastest goal scored by a player making his debut when he entered the match as a substitute against Sporting Kansas City on May 27, 2016, and scored the game-winning goal 33 seconds later.


Kamara made nine appearances for United from 2016 to 2017, starting twice.
