D.C. United has announced that the club has signed former University of Notre Dame defender Luke Mishu.
“Luke had a very good pre-season with us and he has earned his spot on our roster,” said D.C. United General Manager Dave Kasper. “He will provide us with solid depth at the wide back positions, and we believe he has a bright future as a professional.”
In 2014, Mishu was a team captain for the Fighting Irish and played every minute of the season, notching five assists while helping the defense post six shutouts, along with earning second-team all-ACC honors. The native of Knoxville, Tenn., was also a key member of the Notre Dame squad that captured the 2013 national championship and the 2013 ACC regular-season title. Mishu finished his collegiate career with 12 assists in 75 matches (71 starts).
