5v2 3-13-14

Don't let the above photo fool you; It’s cold (the photo was from Tuesday)
It’s easy to tell who might have a few screws loose when temperatures drop below freezing. Today, it is 29 degrees with a wind chill that makes it feel like 11, and there were three D.C. United players who decided it was warm enough for shorts. While Crisitian Fernandez, Bill Hamid and Andrew Dykstra sported weather-inappropriate attire, the rest of the squad was bundled up, but not put-off by the weather. Even though below freezing temperatures leave little to smile about, the guys couldn’t seem to stop; the team was extremely upbeat, and the energy was through the roof.

Head it Home
After a few rounds of really loud 5v2, the Black-and-Red moved onto a larger field with goals at either end. Joe Willis opened the scoring with a perfectly placed header…during team handball. Perry Kitchen tied it up for the blue team a few minutes later, then Ben Olsen declared “next goal wins.” The blue team left the training field champions after netting the game-winning-header.

Victor Munoz
D.C. United has decided not to sign its 2nd round SuperDraft pick Victor Munoz. The Madrid native was selected after four years at UCLA and remained on trial with DCU through its Home Opener.
