A weekend off

Dwayne De Rosario and Chris Pontius vs Philadelphia in preseason

After a fast-paced start to the 2013 MLS regular season, D.C. United has a weekend off in their schedule. The Black-and-Red does not play another regular season match until Friday, April 5 at Sporting Kansas City (8:30 p.m. MLS Live).

For team captain Dwayne De Rosario, the off time was a great opportunity to spend time with his family: "I will be, pretty much taking [my children] around. I know John Thorrington is having some of the guys at his house, so I'll be going there as well."

DeRo won't be alone: "A couple of guys are going to Johnny's for Easter. Just going to be a laid-back weekend, hang out with the friends," added defender Dejan Jakovic.

Defender Brandon McDonald used the bye weekend as an excuse to go home: "I'm going back to Arizona to hang out with my family. See some of my friends, and just relax, kick my feet up, go to church on Sunday and head back."

The team returns to action next weekend, before returning to RFK on Saturday, April 13 when the New York Red Bulls travel south. Tickets still available
