Top 5 reasons to become a D.C. United Season Ticket Holder

Champions Club - RFK

As D.C. United rolls out its 2013 Season Ticket Holder plans, we took a few minutes to pick out some of our favorite benefits. There are far more than just five, but these were the ones that we think make being a DCU STH the best deal in local sports.

5) Access
2013 Season Ticket Holders will have unprecedented, behind-the-scenes access to the club and its staff. In January, as the team is still piecing together its roster, those with the full STH plan will be invited to a personal question and answer session with head coach Ben Olsen and his team. Before First Kick 2013, the club will also open up one of its training sessions to season ticket holders.

4) Gear
Want to wear what the pros wear? Become an STH. We’re not talking about the ‘authentic’ gear you can get off the rack in your local soccer shop – this is the good stuff. Captain’s armbands worn by Dwayne De Rosario and practice tops used by Chris Pontius, all offered at a discounted rate during the end-of-season equipment sale, an event to which season ticket holders will have priority access.

3) Champions Club
D.C. United season ticket holders know how to tailgate, but for the first time there is now a place inside RFK where the club’s most committed supporters can meet for food, refreshments and trash-talking the New York Red Bulls. The Champions Club, which overlooks the field from above the Corona Party Deck, will offer discounted food options and happy-hour beer prices leading up to kickoff.

2) Exchange Policy
Can’t make it to a few games, worried about missing the action? Not ideal, but definitely no reason to miss out on being a season ticket holder – especially with the club’s groundbreaking exchange policy on unused tickets. Unused tickets become credits that can be used towards bringing friends and family to future matches. Try finding another professional team that offers you that kind of flexibility.

1) The Future
The day is coming when D.C. United will no longer play at RFK. Of the many benefits afforded next year’s season ticket holders, perhaps none is more exciting than the prospect of priority seating when the club builds its new stadium. The only way to ensure you’ll have the best seat possible in D.C.’s future home, is to be at RFK in 2013.
