2012 Major League Soccer schedule

D.C. United announced today its 2012 Major League Soccer regular season schedule. A winner of 12 major domestic and international titles, D.C. United begins its 17th regular season campaign on Saturday, March 10 against Sporting Kansas City. United will play a 34-game, unbalanced schedule, based upon the League’s new Conference-based alignment. In this structure, United will play 17 home games and 17 road matches, with 25 of those contests against Eastern Conference opposition.


2012 Schedule

Season ticket plans are now on sale through the D.C. United office at 202-587-5000 and online at dcunited.com. Premium seating – either club section, private or semi-private boxes, or field level – is also available and includes premium services such as food and beverage, complimentary parking and VIP access. Mezzanine seating options remain priced at $900, while Midfield ($680), Sideline ($480) and Endline seats ($360) are also unchanged from 2011. Youth discounted pricing remains an option in these areas. The First Kick Pack, featuring four tickets to the home opener and autographed mini-ball signed by 2011 MLS MVP Dwayne DeRosario, is also available at dcunited.com for as low as $118.


United’s home schedule features compelling match-ups throughout the year, beginning with First Kick Weekend against Sporting Kansas City on March 10 (7:30 p.m. ET). Visits from Western Conference sides Seattle Sounders FC and FC Dallas highlight the end of March and early April, while United hosts expansion club Montreal Impact for the first time on Wednesday, April 18 at 7:30 p.m. ET.


Reigning Eastern Conference champion Houston Dynamo comes into RFK on April 28, while the club plays host to rivals Philadelphia Union and the New York Red Bulls in August. Both of those matches will be nationally televised, with the Philadelphia match being broadcast by new League partner, The NBC Sports Network, on August 19. Galavision will carry the New York match on Wednesday, August 29.


The Black-and-Red will be featured twelve times on national television, beginning with Galavision’s airing of the March 18 visit to MLS Cup champion LA Galaxy. NBC Sports will carry United’s home match with FC Dallas on March 30, while ESPN2 will televise New York’s first visit to Washington on April 22 as the two sides resume their Atlantic Cup rivalry. United’s regular season finale at the Chicago Fire will be carried by NBC Sports. Additional regional television plans will be announced at a later date.


D.C. United’s full playing calendar will include fixtures in other domestic and international competitions. Dates and times will be announced in the weeks ahead.
