D.C. United youth finishes 6-0 in weekend action

D.C. United’sAcademy teams went a perfect 6-0 in matches this past weekend as the U-15ssecured a spot in the Pre-Academy Playoffs to be played from June 3-5 inPennsylvania. 


The U-14 andU-15 squads dispatched of NJSA on Sunday, May 26 with a quality offensiveshowing, winning 5-0 and 5-1, respectively. Liam Hoen-Beck tallied a hat trickfor the U-14s along with goals from Patrick Jean-Gilles and Quinn Wyant in thewin. The U-15 team was led by two goals from Michael Seaton and strikes fromChristian Najar, Christian Kershaw, and Chike Nwaezeapu.


The U-16 andU-18 teams traveled to New Jersey to play Match Fit Chelsea on Saturday, May 25and NJSA ’04 on Sunday, May 26, securing victories in all four matches. Withthree regular season games remaining, both squads are inthe playoff hunt. 


On Saturday, theU-16s defeated Match Fit Chelsea 5-1 on a hat trick from Dami Aditola and goalsfrom Christian Rodriguez and Patrick Foss. United then defeated NJSA ’04 thefollowing day 3-1 with goals from Collin Martin, Rodriguez, and Ramzey Hassan. 


The U-18sduplicated their younger mates’ efforts with a 2-1 victory against ChelseaMatch Fit on Saturday and a 2-0 defeat of NJSA ’04 on Sunday. Mikias Etichascored goals in each game while Bryan Piriz and Lester Dewee also found thescore sheet.
