Virginia State Cup review: Opening weekend

Despite many cancellations across the state thanks to the rain this past weekend, Virginia State Cup action kicked off on Saturday. After two days of intense play, many teams moved on to the next round, and many more went home empty-handed.

In the girls' division, 15 games kicked off, and 15 teams moved on to next weekends round of play. The biggest margin of victory this weekend was the 9-0 romp by MCLN MPS Force Green, though many of the games were decided by one goal.
