Photo of the Day: Great Pyramids

Remember when we posted a photo from season ticket holder Brian Barnes wearing his United jersey at Machu Picchu?  Well, apparently that inspired former United trialist and reserve division guest player Grady Renfrow to send in a few photos of him sporting his DCU kit in Egypt.

Grady is a local product who was on trial with the Black-and-Red during pre-season 2008.  Though he didn't make the squad he did play in six reserve games (two starts) this past season, totaling 175 minutes and an assist.

Grady writes from Egypt:

I have been spending the past four months attempting to play soccer in Egypt.  The process has taken longer than expected but with a little luck I will be able to play here for a good amount of time. I have made a good impression so far but I will have to wait until the FIFA signing window before I can officially join a team.  The soccer is o.k. but the people live and die for it so that's great!
Of course I would never turn my back on my favorite club in the world and my hometown team, D.C. United.  I am always on Behind The Badge and I remember the picture from a few months ago, the one from the fan in Peru.  Needless to say I was inspired by his picture and figured I had the next piece to the puzzle.
I had my "old school" DCU jersey priority mailed to me as soon as I saw the other picture from Machu Picchu.

Thanks for reading, Grady, and good luck in Egypt.  We'll hope to see you back in D.C. before too long.

A few more photos after the jump.
