 ... or Goalfest 2008.

dcunited.com recap right here

Four different goal-scorers (Emilio, Quaranta, Gallardo, Moreno) and four different guys get assists (Quaranta, McTavish, Niell, Fred). This type of game is often referred to as a thrashing. Back soon with quotes from Head Coach Tom Soehn and players.

UPDATE: A good, solid first MLS win for the team tonight. Obviously, Toronto had to deal with an early red card, but the guys managed the game well. The focus now turns to getting a result against Pachuca on Wednesday night.

Here are a few choice quotes from post-game. Two new photos added to Video & Pics, as well.

D.C. United forward Jamie Moreno
On his leg:

I thought it was in better shape.
My leg is not there yet – I was a little bit disappointed.
I feel better, but I’m still not 100 percent.
I’m not comfortable yet sprinting, and I still have a little bit of fear.
I have three days to work on that, and hopefully I’ll be good for Wednesday.
D.C. United goalkeeper Zack Wells
On Laurent Robert:

Obviously he’s a good player, and he has a good history. It’s his first game in MLS, so I’m sure he was eager to get his feet wet and make his mark on the game.
On the game:
It was a bit of a confidence booster.
I don’t think it was a realistic test because of the red card in the first half. I think that kind of took a lot of pressure off us; we were able to keep possession and move the ball a little bit easier.
It’ll be different on Wednesday night [against Pachuca] – they’re a good team.
We’ve had two good games at RFK this spring, and hopefully we’ll continue that on Wednesday.
D.C. United forward Santino Quaranta
On the game and his return to United:

It’s a humbling experience.
I’m ready to do whatever I gotta do every day to be successful.
If it means being the first one in here and the last one to leave, than that’s what I’ll do.
I’ve just been riding this potential train for a long time, and to be able to go out there and work hard for your team and to know you’re helping your team win, it’s a good feeling and I expect to do that every game. From where I was, just to be out there looking around again, it’s emotional for me.
On the game:
It’s not about scoring, it’s not about anything – it’s about winning.
And that’s what we did tonight.
On his teammates
You can go down the list of our attackers, and each one’s better than the other, and it’s such a good combination.
