The Hungarian international quickly established himself in MLS, playing 80 minutes in his first start on Aug. 26 against New England. Stieber helped force a draw with the New York Red Bulls on Sept. 27 after his free kick was deflected into the Red Bull net in first half stoppage time. Stieber then recorded his first MLS assist by starting the passing sequence that led to Mullins’ 70th minute goal. The attack-minded midfielder was a consistent offensive threat and he provided United with 16 key passes in only six starts. In 2017, Stieber earned six caps for Hungary.
