2016
In his first season with the Black-and-Red, Lamar Neagle led the team with nine goals, tying his career-high set in 2014 for Seattle. The 29-year-old scored six goals in the final nine games, including a game-winner away against Toronto FC (October 1) when Neagle scored twice to secure D.C. United’s second away win of 2016 and earn a nomination for MLS Player of the Week. The midfielder was also named to the MLS Team of the Week three times and his volley against New England on June 25 won AT&T Goal of the Week (Week 16) and was nominated for the 2016 Goal of the Year award.
2014
Neagle made 27 starts on 32 appearances against MLS competition, which ranked second on the club among field players for most appearances. He scored a career-high 27 points with nine goals and nine assists—Neagle was one of three players on the club to reach at least nine goals and nine assists. Against Toronto FC (March 15), Neagle recorded his first point of the season on an assist. He scored his first goal of the season at Montreal (March 23), which ended up being the game-winner. Neagle also netted the game-winner at Chicago (June 7). Against Colorado (April 26), Neagle recorded a goal and an assist in the 4-1 victory. In the postseason, Neagle made three appearances on two starts, and appeared in each of the five U.S. Open Cup matches. He was named to the MLS Team of the Week in Week 14 and Week 29.
2013
Neagle finished tied for the team lead with 20 points in his third stint with Sounders FC. He also set career-highs in nearly every statistical category, including appearances (30), starts (27), minutes (2,409), goals (8), and assists (4), which led to being named a finalist for MLS Comeback Player of the Year. He ranked second on the team with eight goals and four game-winning goals, and scored in back-to-back games for first time in career versus San Jose (May 11) and versus FC Dallas (May 18), recording three goals and an assist. He scored in three straight games versus Chivas USA (September 4), versus Chicago (September 7), and versus Real Salt Lake (September 13). He netted the game-winner in a 2-1 win versus Chivas USA (July 28). He scored the game-winning goal in the 81st minute and added an assist in a 3-2 win against Vancouver (June 8). He recorded his first goals of the season with a brace in a 4-0 win against San Jose (May 11). He assisted Clint Dempsey’s first Sounders FC goal in a 1-1 draw against LA Galaxy (October 27). He was named to the MLSsoccer.com Team of the Week for Week 11 and Week 12. He was named the Sounders FC Humanitarian of the Year after making more than 25 appearances in the community this season and starting The Neagle Foundation. In addition, he was recognized as MLS W.O.R.K.S. Humanitarian of the Month for August for his work with America SCORES and Boys & Girls Club of King County.
2012
Neagle was traded from Seattle to Montreal Impact with Mike Fucito in exchange for Eddie Johnson. He made 23 appearances and 11 starts for the Impact, scoring two goals and two assists. He recorded first point when he assisted on the opening goal in a 2-1 win against Toronto (April 7). He scored his first goal for Montreal in a 4-1 win against Seattle (June 16). Neagle scored the game-winning goal on a 20-yard curler in a 3-1 win against San Jose (August 18), winning MLS Goal of the Week for Week 24 of the regular season.
2011
Neagle made nine starts in 23 appearances. He tied-third on the team with five goals (three game-winners). Neagle made his MLS debut in First Kick 2011 versus LA (March 15). He scored the club’s second hat trick, first at home, against Columbus (August 27), and was named MLS Player of the Week. His first career goal was a game-winner at Real Salt Lake (May 28). The goal, which earned MLS Goal of the Week, snapped Salt Lake’s league-record home unbeaten streak. He became the third player in club history to score in the MLS Cup Playoffs, against Real Salt Lake (November 2). Neagle led the team with four goals and three assists in six MLS Reserve League games. He made 33 appearances in all competitions, scoring six goals and two assists.
2010-11
Neagle played for the first time internationally with IFK Mariehamn. He appeared in five league matches, scoring two goals.
2010
Neagle joined the Charleston Battery, the third tier of U.S. professional soccer. He scored 12 goals in 19 regular season matches, earning Golden Boot and MVP honors in USL-2. The Battery went on to win the 2010 USL-2 championship.
2009-10
Neagle signed with Sounders FC on June 10, 2009 but was limited to action in friendlies versus Chelsea and FC Barcelona. He was waived after season and spent 2010 preseason as an invitee.
A three-time Mountain Pacific Sports Federation first team selection at UNLV, Neagle scored a league-high nine goals as a senior. He earned NCSSA Far-West Regional Second Team and First Team honors. He finished UNLV career ranked ninth in goals with 27 and tied for eighth place with 60 points.
Neagle was a three-year starter for Federal Way’s Thomas Jefferson High School, where he led team to state championship as a senior. He broke a 31-year-old record by scoring six goals in one game.
He has two brothers, Shedrick and Jamaal, and three sisters, Tanisha, Daisha and Jasmine.
Acquired from Seattle Sounders FC on December 7, 2015, in exchange for general allocation money and targeted allocation money.
