Igboananike provided depth at either wing or up top and appeared in seven matches since being acquired from the Chicago Fire on 7/28. He scored his first D.C. United goal on the final day of the season, 10/23 in Orlando.

Appeared in 31 regular season matches for the Chicago Fire, starting 20. Tallied a goal and assist against MTL on 5/30. Notched his first MLS brace at PPL Park against PHI on 8/16. Two games later, he scored his second brace against NYR on 8/26. U.S. Open Cup: Appeared in three games as the Fire reached the semifinal round. Scored a brace against ORL in the Open Cup quarterfinals on 7/22.

Signed with AIK on Jan. 1, 2013. Scored 22 goals and recorded five assists in all competitions over two seasons. He also scored the first goal in 2-0 UEFA Europa League qualifying victory against Northern Irish side Linfield on July 24, 2014.
