The U.S. Men’s National Team will play Oceania champions New Zealand for only the third time in history at RFK Stadium on October 11, 2016.  The friendly, scheduled for an 8 PM ET kickoff on ESPN networks and UniMás, marks the 24th time the USMNT will play at RFK, more than any other venue in the nation.

The United States have played New Zealand twice, winning both matches by a score of 2-1.  When the two sides met for the first time in the 1999 Confederations Cup, D.C. United players Jeff Agoos, Carlos Llamosa, Richie Williams and Ben Olsen all saw the field for the United States. The most recent meeting between the Kiwis and the U.S. came in 2003 in Richmond, Virginia, when Bobby Convey and Earnie Stewart earned international caps.

The U.S. Men’s National Team will look to improve their 15-3-5 record in matches at RFK before the final round of World Cup Qualifying (Hexagonal) begins on November 11, should they advance beyond the semi-final round in their journey to the 2018 World Cup in Russia.

The USMNT most recently played at RFK last September when they defeated Peru 2-1.
