United at a Glance – January 2024

D.C. United enter the new year and usher in a new era for the Black-and-Red under recently appointed Head Coach Troy Lesesne and General Manager and Chief Soccer Officer, Ally Mackay. With the 2024 MLS regular season schedule set in stone, the players reported for preseason on Monday, Jan. 15.

2024 is set to be a significant year for the club with new management, new players, new events, new partners, and much more! Here is a look ahead at the exciting news and events surrounding the club and Audi Field this month.

D.C. UNITED

D.C. UNITED 2024 MEMBERSHIPS AND SINGLE MATCH TICKETS ARE NOW ON-SALE!

  • The 2024 D.C. United schedule is officially here, and the club will kick off the season against the New England Revolution at Audi Field on Saturday, Feb. 24 at 7:30 p.m. To view the entire Black-and-Red schedule and to buy tickets, click here. D.C. UNITED HIRE TROY LESESNE AS NEW HEAD COACH

  • D.C. United have announced that Troy Lesesne has been named as the club’s new Head Coach and has signed a three-year deal with the Black-and-Red through 2026. Lesesne joins the club after serving as the interim head coach for the New York Red Bulls last season in which he posted a 10-9-4 record, qualifying for the 2023 MLS Cup Playoffs. NEW PLAYER ACQUISITIONS

D.C. United acquire midfielder Jared Stroud and defender Lucas Bartlett in a trade with St. Louis City SC

  • D.C. United have announced the acquisition of midfielder Jared Stroud and defender Lucas Bartlett in addition to $300,000 in 2024 General Allocation Money from St. Louis FC in exchange for Homegrown midfielder Chris Durkin. For more information, click here.

D.C. United acquire defender Aaron Herrera in a trade with CF Montréal

  • D.C. United have acquired defender Aaron Herrera from CF Montréal in exchange for defender Ruan and $500,000 in 2024 General Allocation Money (GAM). Herrera joins the Black-and-Red after spending the 2023 season with CF Montréal in which he recorded two assists in 23 appearances across all competitions. For more information, click here.

D.C. United Sign Brazilian Midfielder Gabriel Pirani from Santos FC

  • D.C. United have signed midfielder Gabriel Pirani, from Santos FC in the Brazilian Série A. The Black-and-Red activated the option to buy Pirani following the conclusion of his loan on Dec. 31, 2023. For more information, click here.

D.C. United Acquire Defender Garrison Tubbs from Atlanta United

  • D.C. United have acquired defender Garrison Tubbs from Atlanta United in exchange for $125,000 in 2024 General Allocation Money. Atlanta will retain a sell-on percentage for Tubbs. For more information, click here.

D.C. United Sign 2024 MLS SuperDraft Selection and Georgetown University Forward Jacob Murrell

  • D.C. United have signed Georgetown University standout Jacob Murrell to a three-year contract through 2026 with an option in 2027. Murrell was the 7th overall selection for the Black-and-Red in the 2024 MLS SuperDraft presented by adidas on Dec. 19, 2023. For more information, click here.

D.C. UNITED HIRE CALEB SHREVE AS ASSISTANT GENERAL MANAGER

  • D.C. United have announced the hiring of Caleb Shreve as the club’s new Assistant General Manager. Shreve joins the Black-and-Red after spending the previous two seasons as Orlando City SC’s Head of Analytics. Prior to this, Shreve spent two years as a Data Analyst for Nashville SC in 2019 where he worked closely with current D.C. United General Manager and Chief Soccer Officer, Ally Mackay. MLK DAY OF SERVICE

  • In honor of his unwavering commitment to serving others, D.C. United front office staff will come together for its third annual virtual mentorship day to give back to the next generation of aspiring sports industry professionals on Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Day. Undergraduate and graduate students wishing to attend a mentorship session can sign-up here by Tuesday, Feb. 9. To view last season’s day of service, click here.

SOCCER & SOAR: NATIONAL MENTORING MONTH

  • D.C. United is teaming up to provide in-school and out-of-school programming focused on our community values of empowerment, opportunity and service. Each session's curriculum and activities are centered on goal setting and teamwork both on and off the pitch. Through this program, D.C. United players and front office staff mentor young people throughout the DMV. For more information, click here.

D.C. UNITED FOUNDATION

  • The D.C. United Foundation aims to provide youth in the DMV with the tools necessary to soar on and off the pitch, while also seeking to level the playing field for communities by harnessing the power of sport. We prioritize serving populations that lack equitable access to important resources, educating and empowering the next generation and using our platform to lift people up and support their visions. FANDUEL SPORTSBOOK

  • At Audi Field’s FanDuel Sportsbook, you can place bets on your favorite teams and have a winning experience with a full-service sportsbook. Located just inside Gate A on the north side of the stadium, FanDuel Sportsbook is open Monday – Friday (1:00 p.m. – 9:00 p.m.) and Saturday – Sunday (10:00 a.m. - 9:00 p.m.).   • The Club Shop is your destination for D.C. United merchandise at Audi Field. Located near Gate A, fans can access the Club Shop from inside the stadium behind the Heineken Rooftop bar on matchdays. The D.C. United Club Shop will be closed for January; however, you can shop online here.
