The Black-and-Red academy have announced the launch of a pre-academy team made up of players born between January 1, 2001, and December 31, 2003. The new team will compete in the Eastern Developmental Program's (EDP) Division 1 South, with the spring schedule consisting of nine local and regional matches along with four college showcases. The first college showcase will be in mid-December in Pittsburgh, Pa.
The U-19 team will be composed of current players in the Development Academy and players that are in consideration to make a future D.C. United academy team. Players on the pre-academy team will train with their respective age categories throughout the week and play matches with the U-19 Pre-Academy team on the weekends.
Tryouts will be held on Wednesday, December 6 from 7:30-9:00 PM (please arrive by 7 PM to complete registration).
