D.C. United goalkeeper Bill Hamid made MLSā€™ Team of the Week for the second consecutive week. His six-save shutout performance at Yankee Stadium was enough to earn D.C. United a valuable point on the road. Through two games this season, Hamid has not conceded a goal.

In the first half of the match, Alexander Ring smashed a right footed shot from outside of the box and Hamid leapt to his right to push the ball away from the net for the first of his six saves.

Hamid made five impressive saves in the second half of the match to stifle New York City FC. In the 51st minute, ValentĆn Castellanos attempted a header from the right side of the box and Hamid quickly reacted to make the catch.

New York City FC was awarded a free kick in the 78th minute of the match and Alex Mitrita hit a driven shot to Hamidā€™s left and the attempt was answered by Hamid with a strong save.

In the waning moments of the match, Mitrita hammered a right-footed effort towards Hamidā€™s net. D.C. Unitedā€™s Homegrown keeper dove to his right and deflected the shot out of danger to keep things level in the 88th minute.

Seconds after the Mitrita attempt in the 88th minute, NYCFC regained possession of the ball and defender, Anton Tinnerholm crossed the ball into the box to a wide open Ring who made contact with his head from close range. Hamid reacted with his right arm, stopping the ball on the goal line.

Hamid made his 200th start for D.C. United against NYCFC and achieved his 56th career MLS shutout. He became one of only 14 goalkeepers in MLS history to achieve the 200 game milestone. Hamid is tied for 11th for all-time shutout leaders in MLS with 56.
