D.C. United earned a hard-fought point on the road, battling Western Conference-leading Vancouver Whitecaps FC to a 3-3 draw at BC Place. In a back-and-forth contest featuring six goals and multiple momentum swings, the Black-and-Red showed resilience throughout the 90 minutes. With top scorers Tai Baribo and Louis Munteanu away on international duty, defender Kimito Nono stepped up in their absence, scoring a brace for his first two goals with D.C. United. Captain Lucas Bartlett added another, scoring his fourth goal of the season. In their 12th all-time meeting, the Black-and-Red outshot the home side 22-16 and twice fought back from a deficit to earn a point on the road. D.C.
