Nashville SC jumped out to a 0-1 lead early in the first half when Forward Sam Surridge opened scoring in the 32nd minute off a penalty kick goal. Nashville SC Forward Abdul Shakur Mohammed added a goal in the 40th minute to extend Nashville SC's edge before half time. The Black-and-Red came out hungry to level the score at halftime and cut Nashville SC's 0-2 lead down to one when Defender Silvan Hefti scored his first MLS and D.C. United goal in the 56th minute. Forward Tai Baribo scored the equalizing goal in the 77th minute, marking his eleventh goal of the season and his fourth-straight match with a goal. The Black-and-Red remain ninth in the Eastern Conference with 23 points and a 5-5-8 record. D.C.
