How it affects D.C. United:
After a 2-2 draw at StubHub Center between the two top teams in the West, Seattle and LA face off again, this time at CenturyLink Field on Saturday. If the Galaxy loses to Seattle, their record would be 17-7-10 with 61 points. If D.C. United beats Montreal, the Black-and-Red’s record changes to 18-9-7 with 61 points. Looking ahead, if D.C. United makes it to the MLS Cup Final against any Western Conference team but Seattle, United would host the Cup at RFK Stadium with more points than any team except LA, whom United has beat with one more win.
