United midfielder Paul Arriola has been named to the U.S. Men’s National Team roster for two upcoming World Cup Qualifiers by head coach Bruce Arena.

Arriola, 22, has 11 caps for the Yanks (three in World Cup Qualifiers) and scored in his senior international debut on May 22, 2016, against Puerto Rico. The California native was an integral part of Arena’s CONCACAF Gold Cup-winning squad, starting four matches (including the final).

The U.S. host Costa Rica on Sept. 1 at Red Bull Arena before traveling to Honduras four days later. Arriola is one of 18 players who took part in the Gold Cup earlier this summer and also one of 18 to previously play in the June Qualifiers.

“I think we’re bringing in a good roster, one that has depth in every position and in which all 26 players have been with the National Team in 2017,” Arena said. “I think we have the right understanding as a group as to what needs to be done, and hopefully we can be successful in these next two games.”
