For a fourth consecutive year, D.C. United defender Kofi Opare teamed up with Dreams for Kids D.C. (DFKDC), a non-profit that provides activities that empower children with physical and developmental disabilities, to host its annual DFKDC soccer clinic.

Youth athletes were invited to RFK Stadium’s training field on Sunday, Oct. 14, where those in attendance rotated through four soccer activity stations led by Opare and local volunteers. In support of their teammate, United midfielders Chris Durkin, Ian Harkes, Jared Jeffrey and Jalen Robinson were also on hand to provide added motivation for the youth.

“It felt great to come out and interact with these kids," Opare said. "A lot of them have physical and mental disabilities and they don’t really have the opportunity to get out and socialize with people as frequently. Working with Dreams for Kids allows us to get these children out to play with them and provide them with a great time.”
