D.C. United (2-9-5, 11 pts.) will travel to Soldier Field to take on Chicago Fire FC in their 17th match of the 2020 MLS Regular Season on Sunday, October 11 at 7:30 p.m. EST.


This will be the first time these two sides match up in the 2020 season. They drew both their matches in the 2019 season, with the first fixture ending 3-3 on May 29 at Audi Field. The second match was a 0-0 tie on July 27 at SeatGeek Stadium. D.C. United has an all-time record of 25-25-19 against Chicago Fire FC in their club’s history.


In their last match, D.C. United lost 4-1 to New York City FC. The Black-and-Red featured five homegrown players in their starting 11, including Bill Hamid, Donovan Pines, Griffin Yow, Moses Nyeman, and Kevin Paredes. Ola Kamara scored the lone goal for D.C. United with a 12th minute penalty kick and Bill Hamid recorded a season-high seven saves in the match.


In Chicago Fire FC’s last match, they lost 1-0 to Sporting KC on October 7. They have earned seven points in the last five matches and are currently sitting in 11th place in the Eastern Conference with 16 points this season.
