D.C. United are set to play against Atlanta United FC in their 25th match of the 2021 Major League Soccer (MLS) Regular Season on Saturday, September 18 with kickoff set for 3:30 p.m. ET. D.C. United will look to build on a strong performance in their last match when they travel to Mercedez-Benz Stadium to take on Atlanta United on Saturday afternoon.

In their last match, D.C. United won 3-0 against Chicago Fire FC. The Black-and-Red were able to pull away thanks to a first half hattrick from Ola Kamara and strong defensive play throughout the match. Kamara scored his first goal in the ninth minute from a penalty kick that he earned after being fouled from behind inside the box. Bill Hamid made the save of the match in the 27th minute when he made a quick-reaction kick save to deny a Chicago shot from in-close. United scored their second goal in the 35th minute when Kamara converted from the penalty spot once again. Kevin Paredes earned the penalty this time, after being clipped in the box. Kamara completed the hattrick in the 44th minute when he got on the end of a Julian Gressel cross and headed it into the far corner. United led 3-0 at the break.

The Black-and-Red did not allow a single shot on target in the second half and were able to deny Chicago any goalscoring opportunities thanks to strong play in the midfield and defense. Ramón Ábila and Edison Flores came on as second half substitutes and nearly found United’s fourth goal on multiple occasions. United kept their seventh clean sheet of the season and won 3-0.

D.C. United have an all-time record of 6-5-0 against Atlanta United FC. The last time these two teams played was on August 21 when Atlanta won 2-1 at Audi Field. Yordy Reyna scored the equalizing goal in the second half, but it was Atlanta United who were eventually able to find the winning goal late in the match. D.C. United will look to seek revenge for this defeat earlier this season on Saturday.

D.C. United against Atlanta United FC on Saturday, September 18 at 3:30 p.m. ET will be nationally broadcast on TUDN and live streamed on Twitter.
