As the Black-and-Red get ready to wrap-up the first leg of preseason inFlorida, United’s newest forward spoke with dcunited.com. The Brazilian strikercommented on his first experiences with the team and the quality of Ben Olsen’ssquad.

The first stage of preseason is almost over. How has yourexperience with D.C. United been so far?

So far, it’s been good. I’m grateful because the guys areamazing. We began preseason in a very good way, and we’ve all been practicingreally hard. So, we are in a good place right now.

How are you finding your place in the team off the field?How are your teammates treating you?

They are the best ever. Everybody is great; all my teammateshave welcomed me really well. I hope it will continue that way so we can workeven harder the rest of preseason.

What has Ben Olsen asked of you as a striker?

He asked me to do everything. He asked me to score, to helpwith the team – to be there for everything and everyone.

What are your thoughts on United’s current squad?

It’s a really good squad. There’s a great mixture of youngand experienced players, which is what we need. We also have really goodplayers that are able to make a difference for us in any game.

What will other teams need to look out for when facing D.C.United?

They are going to have to look out for everything, becausewe are going to come at them hard. We are going out to win the game – always.

With kickoff set for 10:30 a.m. ET on Thursday, United will face Swedishclub Malmo FF at IMG Academy. The match is open tothe public. The team will return to DC Thursday evening for a three day stint back home before heading to Arizona for the second trip of preseason.
