D.C. United and Wells Fargo are proud to announce the donation of $10,000 through the Saves for DC SCORES program launched in 2015. The collaboration has turned the standout performances of Black-and-Red goalkeepers into benefits for United's charitable partner DC SCORES, helping supplement the nonprofit's program costs throughout the year, including free after-school soccer training programs for more than 2,000 children across the District.

"Saves for DC SCORES is a fun, dynamic partnership that allows our kids, parents, coaches, volunteers, and donors to cheer on a particular aspect of the game as DC SCORES benefits financially," Anthony Francavilla, DC SCORES' director of individual gifts and corporate partnerships, said. "With $10,000, a D.C. school team can participate in year-round programming at absolutely no cost to the families or the school. It's the kind of win-win-win partnership we love."

This year's program launched on a high note, as Bill Hamid tallied five saves against Sporting Kansas City in United's home opener. Hamid led Major League Soccer in saves for much of the season, while Travis Worra also recorded multiple strong performances for the Black-and-Red. As Steve Clark joined United, the newcomer continued the trend of posting standout numbers while minding the net, including a six-save performance in Chicago and a five-save match at Red Bull Arena.

For each save up to 100 saves, Wells Fargo committed to donate $100 to DC SCORES. The number of saves was tracked live on dcunited.com, with updated totals announced on the team’s Facebook, Instagram and Twitter accounts after each match.

As the official bank of Major League Soccer and presenting sponsor for the league’s annual MLS WORKS Community MVP Contest, Wells Fargo’s sponsorship of D.C. United continues the company’s focus on developing relationships with soccer fans across the country.
