D.C. United to Relaunch its Youth Programs 

WASHINGTON, D.C. (July 22, 2025) - D.C. United today announced the launch of its new Regional Development School (RDS) Program, set to begin in Fall 2025. Designed as an introduction to the D.C. United Academy, the RDS will support player development alongside local youth clubs, providing a pathway for players aged 8–14 to train in a competitive and professional environment.

“This is a major step forward for our Academy,” said Kevin Flanagan, D.C. United Academy Director. “The launch of the Regional Development School Program deepens our footprint in youth development and broadens our ability to identify and nurture talent across the DMV. It reinforces our commitment to building a strong foundation by connecting with more young players and equipping them with the tools to grow within our system.”

The RDS will offer a curriculum aligned with D.C. United Academy standards and will be led by professional coaches. The program is designed not only to develop technical and tactical skills, but also to cultivate a lifelong passion for the game. With a focus on individual growth, the RDS aims to enhance youth engagement, identify players for the Academy pipeline, and elevate the overall level of play in a region rich with soccer talent.

The program will operate in multiple satellite locations throughout the DMV and will run during the Fall, Winter, and Spring seasons. Tryouts are required for participation.
