D.C. United to Kick-Off Hispanic Heritage Month Celebration with Noche Latina Match on Sunday, Sept. 18 Presented by Steamfitters Local 602

WASHINGTON, D.C., (Sept. 15, 2022) – D.C. United will host a Noche Latina themed match presented by Steamfitters Local 602 on Sept. 18 at 5:00 p.m. EST when they welcome Inter Miami CF to Audi Field to kick-off Hispanic Heritage Month.

To commemorate this special day and to begin the monthlong celebration, D.C. United in partnership with Steamfitters Local 602 will introduce several matchday activations to celebrate the Hispanic community and their culture, supported by additional club partners Chesapeake Employers’ Insurance Company and McDonald’s.

  • Party at the Pitch: Prior to the match, D.C. United will host salsa dancing performances and lessons during the club’s pre-match Party at the Pitch located just outside Audi Field on Audi Drive.
  • Matchday Giveaway: Special edition Noche Latina window clings will be available for a select number of fans as a matchday giveaway upon entry.
  • Custom Merchandise by Latina Designer: Here’s your chance to purchase a limited edition celebratory Hispanic Heritage themed t-shirt, designed by Latina artist and D.C. United’s very own Elena Seaton. T-shirts will be available for purchase in the DCU Club Shop located within Audi Field.
  • Latinx/Hispanic Food and Drink Specials: Select Audi Field concession stands will carry special food and drink themed specials during the match.

Each year, National Hispanic Heritage Month is observed from Sept. 15 to Oct. 15, by celebrating the histories, cultures, and contributions of families whose ancestors came from Spain, Mexico, the Caribbean, and Central and South America.

D.C. United will also have a multitude of events throughout the month to celebrate the culture, accomplishments, and diversity of our Hispanic Community. Additional information about the events will be announced at a later date.
