Proceeds will Fuel Programs, Community Events and Grants to Local Nonprofits
Washington, D.C. (Sept. 28, 2026) – The D.C. United Foundation raised $299,445 at its fifth annual Golf Classic, presented by Swish, on Monday, September 21 at Robert Trent Jones Golf Club in Gainesville, Virginia. The event brought together 91 golfers, including D.C. United players, front office staff, corporate partners and community supporters, marking this one of the most successful Golf Classics since 2023.
Throughout the day, participants played alongside D.C. United players, took part in the silent auction and heard stories from the Foundation team about the youth and families served by its programs and events, connecting every swing to the community impact it supports.
Proceeds will directly support the Foundation’s work across three areas:
- Programs: Expanding youth and adaptive soccer clinics and Soccer & Soar programming to reach more young people with free, high-quality opportunities to play, learn and grow.
- Community Events: Powering signature efforts like the Back to School Bash, Season of Giving, Raise a Toast Awards and Community Days that deliver essential resources to young people, families and leaders across the region.
- Grants: Investing in local nonprofits advancing youth development and family well-being.
"The 2026 D.C. United Foundation Golf Classic was a powerful reminder of what's possible when our community comes together with purpose," said Shanell Mosley, Senior Director, Community Impact & Executive Director of the D.C. United Foundation. "We're deeply grateful to our players, front office staff, partners and every attendee who showed up for the kids and families we serve. Every dollar raised strengthens our programs, expands our community events and fuels the grants that empower local organizations across the DMV. The day was a true celebration of our community and the impact we created together.
"Swish is grateful to have served as presenting sponsor of this year's D.C. United Foundation golf tournament, and we congratulate the Foundation on raising $300,000 for communities across the DMV," said Jones Tallent, President, Swish. "We're proud to stand with a partner that turns one day on the course into results that will last all year, and we look forward to continuing that work together.”
The Golf Classic builds on a year of growing impact. Over the past year, D.C. United’s impact initiatives reached more than 100,000 people and provided more than 25,000 households with essential resources, including school supplies, soccer equipment and winter gear. Through its annual Season of Giving, the Foundation provided more than 20,000 meals to individuals and families across the region. The Foundation has also distributed over 7,500 soccer balls and built 11 mini-pitches across the District, creating safe and accessible spaces for children to play and enjoy the game.
The D.C. United Foundation thanks presenting partner Swish Data for its leadership and commitment to the community. The Foundation also extends its gratitude to Champion Reception sponsors immixGroup and NetApp; hole sponsors Capitol Petroleum Group, Carahsoft, Dell Technologies, Four Inc., Lafayette Federal Credit Union and NETSCOUT; and in-kind partners 1953, A-GAME, BEZZE, DoableYou, Essentia, Everforth GlideFast, Extraordinary Entertainment, Fruitist, Heineken, iHeartRadio, King Street Oyster Bar, Maracas Ice Pops, Moby Dick House of Kabob, Pepsi and Swings Coffee Roasters.
