D.C. United's new home is the 19th soccer-specific stadium, and 16th soccer-specific stadium in use, in the United States. As the sport and the league continue to grow, established and new teams have continued to push toward soccer-specific stadiums instead of sharing multi-purpose stadiums with nearby football or baseball teams. D.C. United have long awaited their own soccer-specific stadium in the city after playing in RFK since 1996.

The extended homestand will give the Black-and-Red an invaluable opportunity to climb the table in their own fortress and compete for a late-season playoff push. There are still 45 points up for grabs at Audi Field, and United are prepared to fight for as many as possible over the next three months.
